DOVEs and PIGEONs of The WORLD

The Columbiformes order contains just one family, the Columbidae which is comprised of dove and pigeon species. They have small heads,short legs, and four unwebbed toes. All Columbiformes are monogamous. Unlike most other birds they are capable of drinking by sucking up water, without needing to tilt the head back.

The Imperial-Pigeons form a genus of very large pigeons. They dwell in forests and eat fruit.

Genus Macropygia
This genus is one of three genera known as cuckoo-doves. They are long tailed, range between 27-45 cm in length and have brown plumage. The genus ranges from India and China through Indonesia and the Philippines to Vanuatu and Australia. (Wikipedia)
